Fine Tuning Your Career in Corporate Entertainment

Tip of the Week – Save Time and Learn More

Education, Tip of the Week

Wanted to tell you all about something I bought recently that has upped my learning capacity and is saving me time everyday.

It’s called MySpeed and you can check it out right here.

It allows me to play any online video at the speed I want – and it doesn’t even make the audio sound like a chipmunk!

I am in a few mastermind groups and I learn a lot from online programs and teachers.  Regular speed is just too slow!  I watch just about everything at 1.7 times normal speed and my brain stays engaged at a much higher level.

Check it out – I arranged for members of this site to get 20% and that bring the cost to just over US$20!  It’s probably the best investment in my education I’ve made in a long time.

Use Coupon Code: MORECORPORATEGIGS20 at checkout to save 20%.

You can get a 7-day trial so give it a whirl.

Inspiration

I love this one and I am positive that the 2.5 million hits in the last 7-days aren’t because people need another version of “Sharp Dressed Man”.

On this site we’ve talked a lot about going the extra mile for clients.  I think this drummer nails it.

Meetings and Events Spending is Up in Q1

This is great news – and I thought you might like to know.

I said it a year ago – and I’ll say it again right now – I don’t think there has been a better time to align yourself with a core group of business partners.  Remember the 80/20 rule and focus on getting 5 – 10 producers that are outrageous fans of what you can bring to their business.

Hit the forums with any follow up comments. The time I spend on this site really is all about helping you!

A Course I Highly Recommend

Top

There’s been a lot of talk in this community about website building, webmasters, do-it-yourselfers, and outsourcing.

I want to direct you to a course taught by a woman I have learned SO MUCH from over the last 2 years.  She is launching another 8-week session called Website Creation Workshop.

I’ll tell you right now it isn’t free, or even cheap – but if you want to free yourself from the handcuffs of a webmaster, the hourly fees that just keep adding up, and the wait time between idea and implementation, this is a very wise investment.

Without Christina’s guidance I would never have gotten this site off the ground.  It uses the system she teaches and, well, it’s been worth many times what I have invested with her over the last 2 years – and I’m always interested in spending $1 to make $5.

Here is the link to her site.  Check it out.  Read the offer and see if it connects with you.

I’m pretty sure this is the first recommendation I’ve made since starting this site – to say I believe in her would be putting it mildly.

Content, Education

I just made a real simple video for you.

Can you promise me that you’ll do what I tell you to do, at least one time?  Today?

If you get in the habit of doing it you will begin booking gigs that would never have been yours.

Here is the video.

Don’t walk past this one.

Niels Duinker – Tip of the Week

Tip of the Week

A table hopping magician might benefit from this:

On your website have an interactive mind reading trick or a video that
explains something. The audience always asks “How do you do that?”
The magician responds by “Well here is my card – I explain you a thing
or two at my website” At the end of the gig pretty much everybody that
attended this party will walk away with his business card and many
people will visit his website. When they sign up for the mailing list
they get access to some easy magic tricks. Whenever any of his
audience members has a party themselves – good chance the will contact
him. So instead of a room full of audience members there will be a
room full of prospects that he is exposing himself to.

Tip of the Week

Tip of the Week

This idea was submitted by Niels Duinker and I like it.  In his words:

The people at diabolo.ca have a thing on their website called “trick
of the week”.  The members from the community send in videos and the
moderator chooses the trick of the week.

I don’t know if you have time for it and if  you like this idea. I
also know that many people already post great ideas/tips/etc.

I’m up for it and I hope you are, too.

If you have one you want to share, send it to me.  I’ll post it to the front page and some level of fame might just come your way!

You can write it or record it – anything really.  Have fun with it.

I’ll think up some special gift for the most prolific contributor.
