Fine Tune Your Career as a Professional Entertainer

Why I Love Aweber

If you are going to be collecting email address, building a list, staying in touch with prospects and clients – and I recommend you do – then you’ll need a system that is designed for the job.

There are a range of products available and I have either tried, or been in business groups with others who are using, all of them.

My quick thoughts on several:

  • InfusionSoft – This is the system I use for automation, and it’s a beast. I have an expert on my team who does everything having to do with Infusionsoft. I could climb into the hole, but it’s not where my time is best used. I show him what I want and he builds it. End of story. He charges $120/hour and for me, worth every penny. It’s not necessary for 99.5% of the people reading this post (maybe 100% but I want to keep some wiggle room). If you want to get seriously into automation that can be customized to react to customer behavior and more advanced techniques, let’s talk. As an owner I can save you $500 off the cost. $300+/month.
  • Office Autopilot – Another heavy-hitter like InfusionSoft. It offers a lot of if/then options which will let you really customize your visitor’s experience. “If they watch this videos, then send them this email sequence”, etc. It’s overkill, can eat a lot of your time, and at a minimum it’s $297/month.
  • Constant Contact – I was with them at first. I finally got frustrated by the lack of customization options on their forms and interface. It’s about five-times as expensive as the one I finally settled on. Free trial.
  • Mail Chimp – I like this one mainly because it’s bone-head easy. They offer a free plan for up to 2,000 subscribers which sounds (and is) fantastic, however, if you plan on doing any serious marketing and connecting, you’ll want to get a paid account so your emails aren’t littered with their ‘jokes’, videos, and branding. Nothing is worse than trying to sell your act and having the email boast that “this was sent from a free MailChimp account – get one by clicking here!”. Another note – you’ll need autoresponders and their free account doesn’t offer them. Free versions and free trial of advanced features.
  • Aweber – As stated in the title of this post, it’s my favorite. Here are three short videos that show you ways I use Aweber in my business, and you can, too. Free trial plus a plan that fits any budget.
